| The objective was to evaluate a reforestation carried out by the goldwashers. The studied area is situated along the Gualaxo do Norte river margins in Mariana - MG. The seedlings were received by donation of regional nurseries and were planted on December of 2006 in hole of 25x25 cm and plant spacing 3x2 meters. The evaluations were carried through on March of 2007. The height was measured with metric ribbon and the diameter, 5 cm above the ground, was done by using digital pachymeter. They planted 538 seedlings of 20 different species, pertaining to twelve botanical families.
